Benchmark #3. Channel Draw/Cylindrical Cup 2-Stage Test

The focus of this benchmark is stress and springback prediction in 1- and 2-stage forming processes. It will test the ability to simulate restrike operations, as well as provide a test to distinguish between various hardening models. Documents specifying the geometry and processing conditions will be provided. Strain, residual stress and in-situ stresses at specified locations will be provided at the conference using aluminum and three steel alloys in the tests. This benchmark is provided by GM Research Labs in Warren Michigan, Industrial Research and Development Institute in Midland, Ontario, and the National Institute of  Science and Technology, in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
